Let the kids......those are words that come to mind when I photograph little ones. Let the kids play. Let the kids get muddy. Let the kids pick their own clothes for their session. Let the kids bring their favorite toy. Let the kids be silly. Let the kids be kids.
When clients book sessions with me, I like to create lasting memories. I want it to be a fun and enjoyable moment. I enjoy interacting with them and candidly photographing them in their element. That's when their true smiles come out, the silly faces, and big toothy giggles. If weather doesn't cooperate, its okay, photographing them at home is always an option too. If you book a full family session with me, we will surely get a few photos like this of your children.
This is my most favorite little girl in the world. She is full or personality, she just turned five, and she is my daughter. It was a perfect Friday afternoon. The sun was out, it wasn't too hot, and these big perfectly fluffy clouds were decorating the sky. I wanted to check out a spot for an upcoming session so I let her pick out a dress and away we went. When photographing young children I like to let them lead. I will give loads of direction and try to make it fun. In this case, I let her run around, twirl, pick flowers, and tell fart jokes. Toilet humor is a staple with kid sessions. It can be a bit of a workout keeping up with the littles but I love when they loosen up. Their personalities and the magic of childhood shines through.
