Small weddings don't have to be small in style. That's the case for Evelyn and Tom!
They had a small wedding shared with their closest friends and family. But there was nothing small about their attention to detail and finding the best venue to suit their aesthetic. They chose Goose Island Barrel House because they love to visit various breweries and the venue is jawdroppingly beautiful with all brick interior, arched doorways, high ceilings, walls of barrels filled with aging beer, and the list goes on. The venue was perfect! They really didn't need to do much to decorate because the venue in itself was quite enough. The touches they did add complimented the venue's charm and their personalities perfectly.
Evelyn and Tom tied the knot in a room as full as character as they are. It was a charming ceremony, small and intimate, their closest friends and family there to celebrate with them. Tom's brother, Mike, even got his minister license just so he could ordain them. It was beautiful and you could feel the love in that room.
They didn't want a traditional ceremony and wedding party, therefore Evelyn asked her mom and sister to wear forest green and Tom asked their good friend Tony to be his best man. Evelyn even wore her mother's wedding dress. It fit her perfectly and was absolutely stunning.
After their ceremony and family formals the three of us ventured off wandering throughout the Barrel House. Every nook and cranny of this venue is the perfect scenery for them. The building has so much character and Tom and Evelyn are just too damn cute together. I really had fun photographing them while their guests went off to get drinks before the reception officially started.
They did their introductions, the cake cutting, a bouquet toss, they had a photobooth set up for extra fun shots, and the Dj played all their favorite jams. One of their favotire memories of the night took place during the end of the night when the DJ played one of their requested songs, I Don't Mind by Defeater. They expected other's to slow dance with them, but everyone stayed back and watched them dance for the second time. They cheered and whistled as they enjoyed the moment.
