Sorry for the silence! The winter months tend to be my down time however this winter I've been keeping myself plenty busy. Let's break it down!
~ I have a notebook full of concept idea sketches that I will be shooting throughout the year. I'm just impatiently waiting for warmer weather at this point. I'm also looking for models so if you're interested please hit me up!
~ I went nuts and bought everything I need for encaustic painting. There's now a space for painting in my dingy basement and I'm really loving how much fun I'm having incorporating encaustics with photography.
~ Looking for the perfect studio space. This is a big dream of mine however I'm picky about what the space looks like. Big windows for natural light and wood floors are a must. Bonus if there's some elements like exposed brick. Something in an old industrial building would be right up my alley.
~ Showing work in galleries. I'm honored be a part of the Awakenings gallery in Chicago where my Medusa series will be on display. This gallery will run all through now until the end of May. I will also be showing work at the Broad Ideas gallery in Galena, Illinois. This gallery will run through the end of March. If you're in either area I highly suggest checking them out. There's a lot of great work at both!
~ I've been keeping myself busy by focusing a lot of attention on my health lately. I turned 40, ya'll! FORTY! A lot of focus has been on growing and reflecting, practicing mindfulness, and living with intention. There's something about turning 40 that really kicked my ass in to living my best life. Words of advice, don't wait until you're 40 to do this though.
~ My hedgehog, Luna. She's a cranky nocturnal creature so honestly she doesn't eat up much of my time. She's just adorable and I thought I would share her with you because why not?!
